Join Tahni Holt and Suniti Dernovsek for a summer camping retreat near Eugene, Oregon. We engage with practices of various somatic and improvisational techniques to highlight individual’s process by attending to presence and perception.
Together we will:
· Camp in a beautiful location
· Enjoy 6 vibrant meals by Eatin’ Alive
· Receive movement and somatic meditation instruction
· Come together in community for support and conversation
· Relish in free time to walk in the woods, swim in the creek, and sit in a hammock
We explore new and old forms of movement as a way to reveal our preferences and habitual behaviors. This retreat proposes to identify our specific strategies of knowing to allow for the unknown, the mystery and magic to guide us to wherever we show up. If presence is the ability to differentiate one moment from another can we enliven our experience through new practices of movement, sensing, creativity and intention?
We are brave. We move outside of what we know to be in the mystery of the unknown. In this retreat we practice being together (not in consensus) in tenderness. We gather in retreat and attend to the beautiful natural environment surrounding Big Bear Camp. We take this time to activate a deeper sense of presence. And although the retreat is outside of our everyday lives, through an accumulation of material and time, what is offered is integrated into ourselves and enriches our lives as much away from retreat as within.
The Location
Big Bear Camp is located within 80 acres of forest tucked in its own little valley in the Siuslaw watershed, about 35 miles west of Eugene, Oregon. There is a unique combination of a comfortable lodge with a range of camping facilities from improved tent sites to primitive camping under coastal old growth.
