Body of Relating
When I begin my formal movement and meditation practice I look for a quality, a feeling of warmth in my chest, tears down my cheeks, love, devotion and gratitude. I bow to the ground and I am received. I know I belong to gravity. I practice to remember that which I sometimes forget and I practice to stabilize in presence. I feel the compassion in my heart bring me to my cushion and into my life.
In this three-week series, we explore entering our practice through the door of compassion. Compassion reminds us that we are here together, in bodies, in dialog and in relationship to all things. Compassion inspires movement into activism, chores, parenting and into whatever our creative expression is.
Through movement, discussion and meditation this series will inspire a research that exists in the body. With an interest in community, we discuss how our practices are integrating into our lives.
